VaultLint is a pre-launch product. This site is a landing page, so the amount of personal data involved is deliberately small. This policy explains exactly what happens, in plain language.
VaultLint is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email hi@vaultlint.com. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.
We use Matomo, a self-hosted analytics tool, to understand which pages people find useful. It runs on our own server at analytics.gazolin-production.com. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any cross-site tracking.
Matomo is not loaded until you press Accept on the consent banner. If you decline or simply ignore the banner, the analytics script is never added to the page and no request is made to the analytics server at all — there is nothing to opt out of afterwards.
If you do consent, Matomo records:
Matomo stores first-party cookies whose names start with _pk_ in order to recognise a returning visit. These are not shared with anyone and are not used for advertising.
Legal basis (GDPR): your consent, Article 6(1)(a). You can withdraw it at any time — see below.
If you submit your email address to the waitlist, we use it for one purpose: to tell you when early access opens. We do not send marketing newsletters, and we never sell, rent, or share the list with third parties.
The form sends your address to our own subscription service at go.vaultlint.com, together with a label identifying which form on the page you used. Your IP address is used there only to rate-limit submissions and is not stored alongside your subscription.
We use double opt-in: your address is recorded as pending and we email you a confirmation link. If you never click it, you stay unconfirmed and hear nothing further from us. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
Legal basis (GDPR): your consent, Article 6(1)(a), confirmed by clicking the link in the confirmation email.
One value is written to your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never transmitted to us:
vaultlint_consent — whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask again on every page.Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and the consent banner will reappear.
This site loads the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces from Google Fonts. Because the font files are fetched from Google's servers, your IP address and browser user-agent are transmitted to Google when the page loads. This happens before any consent, as it is part of rendering the page.
If you would rather this did not happen, we can serve the fonts from our own domain instead — email us and we will prioritise it. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user-agent) for security and troubleshooting. These are kept for a short period and are not combined with analytics data or used to build a profile of you.
Legal basis (GDPR): legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available, Article 6(1)(f).
Nobody, for advertising or commercial purposes. The only parties that process data on our behalf are our hosting provider, our own Matomo analytics server, and our own subscription service that handles waitlist confirmation emails. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already happened.
To withdraw analytics consent, click Cookie settings in the footer and choose Decline — this clears the Matomo cookies and stops the tracker. For anything else, email hi@vaultlint.com.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that sense. Analytics on this site is opt-in for everyone regardless of where you live, which is stricter than US law requires. To exercise any other right, email hi@vaultlint.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Our analytics server and hosting may be located outside your country. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
This site is aimed at professional software developers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
If we change how we handle personal data — for example when the product launches and accounts exist — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes that affect analytics will reset your consent, so you will be asked again.
